  • The Qing Dynasty ruled as an absolute Imperial Monarchy. This meant that the emperor and his family were the only source of authority. Towards the end of his reign, the emperor would choose his successor.
  • The Qing Dynasty was the last Imperial Dynasty of China.
  • China fell back in the industialization of new technology, relative to other nations of the Industrial Revolution.
